There Is No Love Review

“there is no love” (digital single)

(Planting Seeds)

Crozer is in The Jesus & Mary Chain, an amazing resume sweetener, though this writer rates him for his wonderful Heart is Black EP with The International Jetsetters, his band with ex-Ride drummer Loz Colbert—my #18 pick in issue 63. This is his first solo job in eight years (having digitally reissued Shining Down On Me and Unnatural World), and fans of the above mentioned will find rapture in the b-side “To Get to You,” with its gentle fuzzy guitars and slow ‘60s pop splendor, like light JaMC doing late ‘60s Bee Gees or Lulu with a splash of Pale Saints. “Please don’t turn around and walk away it would break my heart in two/I’ve given all I got to get to you”—classic, as is a cover of The Cure’s 1985 The Head on the Door’s “A Night Like This,” a treat for fans of Ride’s Carnival of Light. The a-side’s A-Ok, too!"

Thanks Jack Rabid!
